In November 2022, we put AI to the test. We asked ourselves, could we craft a holiday advert that could compete with the greats in under four days, using only AI tools? We used GPT-3 to generate a story to kick off our process, leading us to ‘‘The Donkey Who Wanted to be a Reindeer’. We used this as our stimuli for an AI Daisy Chain and combined multiple AI tools to create assisting visuals, audio and creative refinement. At the end of the four days, we were left with production-ready (ish) assets. But that’s not what our creative team were most impressed by. Instead, they saw a huge leap in the effectiveness and acceleration of the creative process, all thanks to AI. So how did AI do? Well, it won’t be replacing our in-house talent any time soon, but it did give our creative team the initial inspiration and, ultimately, the time needed to be more…you guessed it…creative!
